Albar Garden

Albar continues to find ways to keep our food locally-grown and as fresh and healthy as it can be.

On the restaurant’s own ground we grow mint, parsley and basil, figs, grapes, oranges, lemons and pomegranates. Raphael is growing lettuce for us in his garden in the village.  Our eggs come our neighbour’s corral, and almonds will be harvested from the nearby trees in August.

Local grower Quico has turned over several of his very fertile vegetable plots in the next valley to the exclusive production of organic food for Albar.

First out of the ground this season were the courgettes, served up deliciously the same day in a delicate crisp filigree of batter.  Quico is also growing garlic, potatoes, two types of aubergines and two of sweet peppers, and three varieties each of tomatoes and chilis.
