The Sanctuary of the Virgin de la Cabeza is built on the summit of the tallest mountain in the area (El Cerro de Monteagud). This sanctuary dominates a wide area and is the focus of an internationally famous annual pilgrimage. It makes a good pilgrimage on any day, when a trip to the summit, by car or foot, brings you to a graceful plaza which houses the icon of the virgin when she is not visiting her local villages. The view is panoramic and magnificent.
